Synopsis for "Power Struggle"
Chief of Staff John Holliday shows his cabinet the threat of China's possession of their own superhuman, Supergirl. Through smuggled disc footage, the Supergirl was created through China's genetics program, giving her the powers of flight, durability, and etc. She was "field-tested" against China's own military before the entire experiment fail as her body degenerated from dormant errors. However, the Chinese are currently on the verge of perfecting another Supergirl known as Powergirl. President Schwartz acknowledge the threat of Powergirl and the possible subsequent effects it will have on the world, and he decides on stealing her. He assigns his wife Martina Zelenka (Raven), Holliday, and Rey Quinones on this mission. Quinones himself was called back and given bionics to overcome his disability, but is unforgiven for Schwartz during the Metal Men's actions in Czechoslovakia.
Under the guise of a U.S. diplomatic meeting in Beijing; Holliday, Raven, and Quinones infiltrate the facility that contains Powergirl. They are then accompany by their magic user contact Jade, who has the power to create physical projections of dragons. The four finds the room containing Powergirl, who is ready to be "born" and only needs a personality imprinting for her loyalty. Quinones activates the gestation chamber containing Powergirl to unlock her. However, Nightwing agents Gravedigger and Black Lightning arrive on the scene with Firestorm soldiers, who also wants Powergirl in Nightwing's possession. The two groups soon erupt into a firefight in which Quinones is fatally shot and dies. Powergirl is finally release and notice the deceased Quinones in Holliday's arms. She approaches them and miraculously revives Quinones and does the same for Nightwing's men with her powers. Both sides end their fight and propose Powergirl into joining their respective side. Chinese personnel are alerted to their presence but are then subdue by Powergirl. She decides for herself that she refuses to be either a slave or a pawn to the Chinese, America, or Nightwing before she flies away to decide on what she finds for herself.
With Powergirl gone, the involving parties part ways. Holliday sends a memo to Schwartz regarding Powergirl, who has been gone under prying eyes for five days since her escape, is unsure of whether she, considering the most powerful being in the world that could even raise the dead, can either save or doom the world.
