Tarzan

Tarzan of the Apes was an ongoing comic book series published by DC Comics from 1972 to 1977. The series featured the titular jungle hero Tarzan, a character originally created in 1912 by Sci-Fi/Adventure novelist Edgar Rice Burroughs. Beginning with issue #207, the series continued the numbering sequence from previous publishers Gold Key Comics and before that Dell Comics. Many of the stories featured in this title were adaptations of stories originally presented in Burroughs' Tarzan novels. Although the primary characters and setting of the series were owned by Edgar Rice Burroughs, Inc., they were later revisited by Marvel Comics whose own Tarzan series began publication immediately after DC canceled the series in 1977.
