Synopsis for "Nobody's Hero"

Garfield Logan returns to Hollywood in the hopes of re-invigorating his television career. He speaks with his agent, but fails to find any good prospects. He then takes a stroll down the Hollywood Walk of Fame and visits the star of his stepmother Rita Farr. Suddenly, an out-of-control bus begins speeding towards him. Gar avoids getting hit, but the incident sparks a frenzy amidst the surrounding pedestrians. They all begin attacking him en masse. Confused, Gar flees the scene as quickly as possible.

Taking the advice of his stepfather Steve Dayton, Gar visits a cousin he has never met - Matt Logan. He hopes that his cousin's alleged Hollywood connections might be able to aid him in finding work, but as it turns out, Matt Logan is a total deadbeat.

Elsewhere, Beast Boy's old colleague Bette Kane learns that Gar is in town. She grows excited and believes that he is here to re-start Titans West. Bette changes into her (formerly) retired costumed identity of Flamebird.

That evening, Gar and Matt sneak into a trendy Hollywood night club. Gar tries to make some contacts, but this too fails. He even winds up getting into a fight with a big bruiser named Magilla. The thug tosses Gar into a mirror and leaves the club. Beast Boy gives chase, but when he exits the club into a back alley he finds Magilla lying (apparently dead) on the ground. Police officers appear on the scene and point their guns at Beast Boy.

Synopsis for "A Face of Mistaken Identity"

Beast Boy is found outside a club standing next to the dead body of a thug named Magilla. Police officers arrive on the scene, accuse Gar of murder and take him into custody. At the precinct, Gar's old Titans West colleague Flamebird comes down to bail him out. She hopes that her Titans West Identi-Card will be enough to get the job done, but she does not have the $25,000 required to post bail.

In Blüdhaven, Nightwing learns about Beast Boy's incarceration via Oracle and decides to take a trip out West to investigate matters on his own.

While in prison, Gar looks out his cell window and sees someone who looks exactly like him staring up at him with a mocking sneer on their face. Transforming into a fly, Beast Boy flies through the bars of his cell and gives chase. Unable to capture his prey, Gar returns to his cousin Matt's apartment.

Moments later, two bounty hunters named Fear and Loathing break down the door and attack them. During the fight, Gar changes into a variety of animals including a dinosaur, and elephant, a mule and a cheetah. He soon discovers that the bounty hunters are only there to keep him busy. After keeping him distracted long enough, Fear and Loathing take their leave. Within minutes, Los Angeles police officers arrive at the apartment to take Gar back into custody.

Later, someone who looks like Beast Boy breaks into the mansion of television producer Don Dickerson. He slowly alters his features to resemble a poisonous cobra and Dickerson faints. Nightwing appears in the window behind him and says "Garfield -- we need to talk".

Synopsis for "Gemini"

Nightwing and the faux Beast Boy square off against one another in the home of producer Don Dickerson. The two argue with one another and in short order, a fight ensues. Nightwing quickly deduces that this is not the true Beast Boy, mostly because he never refers to him by his actual name.

Meanwhile, the real Beast Boy and his cousin Matt Logan are sitting in the county jail. Both of them are outfitted with inhibitor collars even though Gar is the only one of the two that has any powers. Flamebird arrives with a check in hand ready to bail them. The prison guard tears up the check and indicates that she cannot arrange bail with a personal check - particularly one signed "Flamebird". Embarrassed, Bette swears that she will find another way to get them out.

On her way home, she hears about the attack taking place at the Dickerson estate. She shows up and helps Nightwing fight the changeling. Unwilling to take on two combatants, the shape-shifter turns into a vulture and flies off. Bette tells Nightwing about Gar's predicament. He then arranges to have both of the Logans released from jail.

Gar is uptight over everything that has been happening. Although he appreciates Nightwing's help, he is determined to resolve this mystery on his own. Nightwing then has a private discussion with Flamebird. He tells her that she is not cut out for the super-hero game, and for her own safety, he recommends that she hangs up her tights. After Nightwing leaves, Bette says "Quit? Like Hell I will".

Later, Beast Boy investigates the trail of his doppelganger. The case leads him to one of the old Space Trek studios. As he enters the room he sees one of his oldest adversaries sitting before him - Madame Rouge.

Synopsis for "Beast War"

The architect behind Beast Boy's recent woes finally reveals herself. She is Gemini and she is the daughter of the late villainess Madame Rouge. She blames Gar as well as his allies in the Titans and the Doom Patrol for the death of her mother. Having captured Gar's old co-stars Tim Bender and Vicky Valiant, she intends on killing them to make Gar suffer even more. Gemini and Beast Boy begin fighting with one another, and Gemini's confederates Fear and Loathing join in the fray. Suddenly, Flamebird arrives sporting a brand new costume. Using evasive maneuvers, Flamebird manages to defeat Fear and Loathing by turning her foes' offensive capabilities against each other. Now its just down to Beast Boy and Gemini. Gemini tries to disrupt Gar's attention by shape-shifting into the form of his stepmother Rita Farr. This tactic fails however, and Beast Boy knocks her out cold with one solid punch to the jaw. Tim and Vicky are freed and Gar is cleared of all charges (much to Lt. Williams' lament). Later, Garfield, Bette and cousin Matt all move into an apartment together.

Synopsis for "Beast Boys & Girls (Part I) - Concrete Jungle"

Thirteen-years-ago
Garfield Logan contracted a rare disease called Sakutia when he was bitten by a poisonous green monkey. His father Mark Logan and Doctor Samuel Register cured Gar, but as a side-effect, he turned green and inherited the ability to shape-change into any animal that he chose.

The Present
All of the Titans who had been bitten by Brother Blood go to St. Luke's Hospital for blood testing. Cyborg becomes concerned when he notices that Beast Boy appears to have developed a cold.

Meanwhile, Starfire, Raven, Wonder Girl and Kid Flash go out shopping. Raven and Kid Flash get tattoos, but Bart's tattoo (a Green Lantern symbol) disappears as his super-speed automatically heals all wounds. Cassie begins to wonder where Superboy is.

Superboy has flown to Gotham City to find out who this new hero posing as Robin is. He snags the female Robin out of the air and presses her for information concerning Tim's whereabouts. Batman shows up and tells Conner to leave Robin alone. He tells him to find Tim on his own.

Back in San Francisco, strange things are developing. Several local children find themselves turning green and transforming into large animals – much the same way that Beast Boy does. Several elephants, rhinos and bison begin stampeding all across town. Cyborg does everything he can to calm the animals down. Beast Boy however, is unable to help. He stumbles backwards and discovers that not only has he lost his ability to shape-shift, he also turned white.

Synopsis for "Beast Boys & Girls (Part II) - Wild Life"

The rare disease known as Sakutia has become airborne, infecting dozens of children under the age of thirteen. As a side effect, the virus has actually reversed the effects that give Beast Boy his powers and appearance. Doctor Rovin gives Beast Boy an examination and refers him to a specialist named Doctor Samuel Register. Garfield remembers Register from when he was a young boy.

Meanwhile, Superboy flies to Gotham City. He visits Tim Drake who confirms that he has in fact retired as Robin. Superboy doesn't approve of the new Robin, but Tim enforces the notion that he wants to live a normal life. Superboy isn't convinced that Tim is ready to leave the hero life behind.

Back in California, the rest of the Titans race around San Francisco in an effort to corral all of the Sakutia victims who are now stampeding throughout the city in a variety of animal forms. They chase down one child who has transformed into a humpback whale.

Doctor Register arrives at St. Luke's where he requests a private consultation with Beast Boy. Register tells Gar that he is not the carrier of the airborne strain of Sakutia as he had believed. He peels away some of the skin on his face revealing purple scales. Register is the carrier.

Synopsis for "Beast Boys & Girls (Part III) - Changelings"

Doctor Register fires a tranquilizer dart into Beast Boy's neck rendering him unconscious. He believes that Garfield's mutated gene structure holds the cure to the Sakutia infection. Suddenly, Cyborg bursts into the hospital room and begins fighting Dr. Register. Register transforms into a serpent and they dive out of the window.

Meanwhile, Wonder Girl is mystically transported to the armory of the Greek God, Ares. Ares encourages her to properly learn the nuances of her new lasso, and warns her that a critical moment will soon arise, which will greatly alter her life.

On the streets of San Francisco, Doctor Register shape shifts into a Tyrannosaurus Rex and goes on a rampage. Garfield realizes that the only way to stop the changeling is with another changeling. He convinces Dr. Rovin to administer a shot of the mutated Sakutia sample into him. Gar Logan transforms once more into the Beast Boy.

Beast Boy shifts into the form of a green Tyrannosaurus and begins wrestling about with the purple dinosaur form of Dr. Register. Once he gets in close, he transforms into a Sydney Funnel Web spider and knocks Register out with a dose of venom.

With Garfield back in his normal form, the cure for the mutated viral side effects becomes airborne. By the following day, Doctor Register and the children of San Francisco revert to their normal forms.

Meanwhile in the 31st century, Brainiac 5 of the Legion of Super-Heroes sends Superboy through a time portal back to the 21st century.
