History

The Teen Titans is a team of young heroes. The original team, lead by the original Robin, was erased from memory when ten years were stolen from the timeline. As such, when he founded his own team, Red Robin thought he was the first to use the name.

Titans Hunt

When an evil organization known as a villain known as Harvest and his organization "N.O.W.H.E.R.E". A running theme for the 2011-2014 series, was Harvest kidnapping young heroes for experimentation and enslavement, as part of the villainous scheme for world domination. Tim Drake, now rebranded as "Red Robin" in order to protect teenage heroes from Harvest's plans. In order to defeat N.O.W.H.E.R.E., Red Robin puts together a team of young metahumans, made up of Kid Flash, Wonder Girl, Solstice, and two new characters named Bunker and Skitter. He later recruits Superboy, who had been cloned by N.O.W.H.E.R.E.'s scientists.

Forever Evil

When all of Earth's greatest heroes were gone and the Crime Syndicate of America had taken over the world. The Teen Titans attempted to challenge the Crime Syndicate, but were easily overpowered by Johnny Quick and Atomika and were then flung into the time stream. During their travels Wonder Girl suggested that Raven use her powers to manipulate the energy within the time stream. Raven succeeded in anchoring the Titans with her soul-self, teleporting them through time. The Titans arrived 20 years into the future, where the Jonathan Lane Kent, has massacred most of Earth's superheroes, leaving only a few, including Beast Boy, now calling himself Beast Man, and Rose Wilson. Superboy (Kon-El) and Jon battled, and Kon triumphed. But Kon was sent elsewhere by an unknown power, and a severely injured Jon was swapped unknowingly as Superboy by Logan and Wilson.

The Titans travel to the 30th Century where they arrive on an alien planet and learn that Kid Flash is actually a rebel leader and war criminal, Bar Torr. While Kid Flash awaits his trial his teammates learn more about his past. When the trial goes under way Kid Flash admits to being guilty and the rest of his future resistance come and attack. During the fight Kid Flash and Superboy clash. During the fight Bart's sister convinces him to give up. The fight ends and Bart is on trial again, and is sentenced to a prison planet. As Bar Torr is being taken away , Solstice reveals her feelings to him and how she is willing to follow him anywhere. Which convinces a judge to send her with him. The remaining Titans leave Kid Flash and Solstice in the future, returning to their original time and are united with Bunker, Beast Boy, and Skitter. Meanwhile as Raven spends some time alone she finds out that their journey has severed Trigon's control over her.

When a mysterious A.I. called Algorithm was committing terrorist acts the Titans target the Algorithm to a high-ranking executive of S.T.A.R. Labs Manchester Black who was being targeted by Algorithm. However in reality Manchester was setting up series of events in order to gain the Teen Titans trust and propose a partnership. Red Robin who was suspicious of Manchester agreed to the partnership, but assigned Beast Boy to investigate.

Rebirth

After Tim Drake disbanded the Teen Titans, he was soon succeeded by Damian Wayne after he had turned thirteen. He began to recruit his team by knocking out and kidnapping ( Kid Flash, Beast Boy, Raven, and Starfire). Once they had awoken Damian reveals himself to them and approaches them with the proposition of joining him as he needed a team to help him take down his grandfather Ra's Al Ghul.

Trivia

  • Early on in the run, references were made to an another group going by the name of the Teen Titans, but this seemed to be retconned after the issues were published into trade paperback format, with panels of dialogue being altered or erased.[1] In contrast, it was said that Arsenal, Nightwing, and Starfire were once members of an earlier iteration of the Teen Titans that preceded the one created by Red Robin by several years.[2]
  • A similar event happened in the Batwoman trade paperback, with a panel of Flamebird referring to herself as a Teen Titan and having battled Deathstroke being altered.[3]
