Tenjho Tenge was an English reprint of the Japanese manga Tenjho Tenge (天上天下) (also known as Tenjo Tenge). CMX's translation was heavily censored to meet the Teen rating, so it could be sold to a wider audience. Although this was done with the permission of creator Oh! great and the original publisher (Shueisha), it still raised controversy.

Tenjho Tenge was canceled by CMX after 18 volumes, leaving the story incomplete; there were 22 volumes in Japan. After CMX was closed down, Viz Media gained the license and published a new translation with no censorship and double-sized books, which they completed in 11 volumes.
