Synopsis for "Can You Dig It?"

The new Terra saves a subterranean race of Illumi-Mites from being crushed by a collapsing coal mine. After going to the surface, she is greeted by the press corps who have been following her exploits for several weeks.

Meanwhile, an industrialist named Richard Faulkner takes some government contractors underground to test the new mobile drilling apparatus, the Earthmover One. Faulkner is exposed to a bizarre chemical and finds his body transforming into various elements. He immediately grows power hungry and kills his government contacts.

Later, Terra turns up on an island in the South Pacific where she confronts another subterranean race, the Lavarians, who have been terrorizing a local village. Power Girl arrives and helps Terra fight the Lavarians, but she is badly burned. Power Girl flies her back to JSA Headquarters where her teammate Doctor Mid-Nite runs some tests on the young hero. Mid-Nite discovers that this Terra is an exact genetic match of the last young woman who used the code name of Terra.
