The General is a name used by two unrelated characters in the DC Universe. The original was Ulysses Hadrian Armstrong, a psychopathic child and military genius acting as an antagonist to Batman and Robin. He later went on to use the alias Anarky. Ulysses Hadrian Armstrong was created by Chuck Dixon and Mike Netzer, first appearing in Detective Comics #654. (1992) Wade Eiling became the second General, an actual military leader with ties to Captain Atom. Diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor, he transferred his brain patterns into the indestructible body of the Shaggy Man and became a super-villain. He has been a member of the Injustice Gang, the Secret Society of Super-Villains and the Suicide Squad. Eiling was introduced as the General by Grant Morrison and Howard Porter, first appearing in JLA #25. (1999) |
