  • Should the Earth-16 versions of Roy Harper and his clone have separate pages?

    • Here's a plan that I've thought about implimenting and since we've got an admin of the Young Justice wikia here with us on the DC Wikia, I'd like to drop the idea by to see if it works or if YJ wiki has solved this little issue themselves.

We know that James Harper and Roy Harper that have appeared thus far are clones. We may have seen a few scenes of the original James or Roy but nothing substantial yet. As such their pages should actually be named James Harper (Clone) (Earth-16) and Roy Harper (Clone) (Earth-16). As for their original article names, these pages could contain any know information or images of the originals and in the history section explicitly mention that these are the original bodies which have since been destroyed in place of their clones.

The current pages are pretty scare for information as it were (unlike say Superboy's page which would also need to reflect the (Clone) title in it's name) and the change would be simple enough for one editor to do.

Is this idea one that will fit? Would it be easier just to say that these characters are actually clones like we have on Kon-El (New Earth) instead of adding Clone to the title in cases like Guardian or Krypto?

tl;dr Do we want split pages for the clones or not?

    • Nightwing said in the most recent episode that Roy Harper was abducted before the series began, and the only Roy Harper anyone has interacted with was the clone. The only information needed on the clone's page is that he was cloned by CADMUS while he was still known as Speedy and taken by The Light at the end of Season 1.

Not sure where the line is drawn on the real and clone Jim Harper's, however.

    • As I said, basically it falls to whether or not it's necessary to create pages for clones or their originals despite what information can be said about them. It's the importance of having it documented as well as whether or not it'll be confusing to users.

It makes no sense to make original pages if all that needs to be said is that these that we know are clones and they're originals are deleted.

Or for the sake of having all the information we should have both pages to show a clear distinction and the possibility that more episodes will include more information about these characters.

Waffle, would you say then that we're both on the same side of having pages for each?

    • Yes for Roy Harper, not sure on Jim Harper. The idea came to me after seeing that a new page was created on the Marvel wiki for the Skrull impostor Captain America that appears in Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes (which, if you look at the edit history for it's more recent episodes, you'll see I basically do the same thing for them that I do here). We used to just code it as "Skrulls|Captain America (Skrull Impostor)" until he got the separate page, as if we weren't treating the impostor as an individual character. Along those lines, the decision to create a separate page for those clones should hinge on one decision: Do we consider the real and clone versions of Roy Harper separate characters?

Not sure how this works with Jim Harper, though. Don't know if he's a direct clone of another Jim Harper like Roy or the relationship to his genetic source material is more like Superboy's to Superman's.

    • Yes to Roy, no to Jim.

And on the YJ wiki, we call one Speedy and the other Red Arrow.
