This discussion is for the Marvel and DC Databases. We have half of the Marvel/DC Crossovers while the Marvel Database has the other half. But is it really a good idea to split the crossovers between the sites when we have appearance categories? If we use {{a}} on a Marvel character, while the link would still take us to the Marvel Database, we would also get an unnecessary appearance category such as Category:MDP:Peter Parker (Earth-7642)/Appearances. Since we don't cover Marvel characters, an appearance category for those characters wouldn't be needed on the DC Database. Now we can take those A templates off the Marvel characters, but what about the quotes? We can take those off and replace them with something spoken by a DC character in that comic, but some quotes are memorable, tells something about the story, is important or gets the reader's attention. If the quotes are spoken by an Avenger, we would have another unnecessary MDP category. We should keep the quotes spoken by DC characters. But the unnecessary categories are not the problem. We can remove appearance templates and quotes from a page, but the crossover articles on the Marvel Database would not be listed in the DC Characters appearances. And the quotes on the Marvel Database spoken by DC characters are some missed opportunities for us. Those comics have DC characters and DC's involvement. They warrant articles here.
