History

In 1655, Earth astronomer Christiaan Huygens discovered the largest moon of the planet, Saturn. Unofficially, the satellite became known as Saturni Luna until 1847 when English astronomer and mathematician, John Herschel renamed the moon, Titan.

At some point in the late 20th century, the ruling council of Titan looked upon Earth as a possible target of conquest. They sent a young scout named Kral to Earth to learn about it's culture. Kral landed in Smallville and met the teenage hero Superboy. He pretended to be Superboy's friend, and lured him back to Titan so that he could be imprisoned with Kryptonite. Superboy demonstrated his powers to the Titanian ruling council. Suspecting treachery, Superboy claimed that everyone on Earth had powers just like his. The Titanians decided to cancel their invasion plans. Earth-One continuity only. [1]

Later, the alien race known as the Dominators began experimenting with humanoid beings in the hopes of genetically enhancing them with various super-powers. Their experiments eventually culminated in a galactic Invasion of the planet, Earth. A Daxamite named Lar Gand became the custodian of these metahuman experiments and used them to seed various planets and moons throughout the galaxy.[2] It is believed by many that Titan was one of the seed colonies established by Lar Gand. These colonists eventually developed acute psionic talents, including telepathy and mental manipulation.

By the 30th century, they had established what is reputed to be the most efficient system of democratic government in the solar system. A large portion of this is due to the fact that the Titans' natural affinity towards telepathy make corruption in government a virtual impossibility.

Residents

Notes

  • Early inhabitants of Titan possessed a variety of super-powers including heat generation, cold generation and telepathy. By the 30th century, they had lost their heat and cold powers, maintaining only their telepathy.
