Tyrell was a soldier from the planet Dheron, a harsh, desert planet that shared the Rao system with Krypton. The two races evolved at a similar pace and their technology was roughly of the same level. They both developed short-range space travel at the same time and only then became aware of each other...and began a bloody war. Normally, Dheron and Krypton were far enough away to render military actions impossible, but every 20 years, their orbits brought them close enough for short-range fighters, bombers, and ever-more advanced war technology to be employed to raze entire cities. This stalemate carried on for generations, until a mysterious third party intervened. These strangers gave the Dheronians technology more advanced than their own, and had only one stipulation. That they must destroy Krypton. During one of their planets' skirmishes, special probes were inserted deep under Krypton's crust which prevented the geothermal pressure from disappating to the surface. Krypton's destruction wasn't a natural was an assassination. It wasn't until later that their scientists discovered a small ship had been launched just prior to the explosion, hidden by the blast's own energy surge. Tyrell was among those chosen to find the sole surviving Kryptonian and end their war once and for all. For twenty-one years, Tyrell searched planet after planet, killing millions but always leaving the worlds intact and the native sentients able to recover and rebuild their societies. Then...his search led to a small, out-of-the-way planet orbiting a yellow star.

Powers and AbilitiesEdit

Dheronians, like Kryptonians, develop superpowers under the light of a yellow star. They have all the same powers, with the added benefit that Kryptonite does not affect them.

According to the "Superman: Earth-1" comic, he seemingly has the same as Superman's minus Kryptonite. When Superman attacks him in Tyrell's ship, Superman uses red sun energy rays to put them both at weakened, and mortal, status.
