The story is rather simplistic. Overall, the story focuses on six main characters. Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman naturally, but also an equal but opposite for each. Superman gets Bizzaro, Batman gets Ras Al Ghul, and Wonder Woman gets a member of the Bana-Mighdall.

Overall, the story works. Each issue takes place largely in one of their "hometowns", and you actuallyy get a good feel for each ones world. The first issue has a sort of wondrous feel, the second simply feels darker, and the third shows the rage of war.

My major comment on the story id the artwork. It feels rather simple, but its enough for the story. If I had to describe it, Id say it was like Frank Millers art, but Millers style done right. Unlike a lot of recent artisits, there arent clusters of weird ink lines all over the place. It feels clean.

However, there is one moment in the third issue some might have problems with. Diana (its shorter to type) had recently been exposed to a Lazarus Pit, and went berserk. She retreated to Themyscira to heal. Worrying about her, Batman and Superman come to check in on her. They separate, and Batman comes across her first. While shes bathing. He is overcome by something (hormones, emmotions he doesnt usually feel, take your pick) and goes up and kisses her (shes covered herself with a sheet by this point, by the way).

Two parts of me are talking at once whenever I read this bit. One part is in support of a Batman/Wonder Woman relationship, so that part squeals. The other part sees this as borderline rape. Depending on your point of view, you might want to beware this scene.

Either way, a rather goof piece. Basic, but in a good way. And it also helps to establish how they would view each other in the following years.
