- V for Vendetta takes place within its own insular continuity, and does not share continuity with that of the mainstream DC Universe, or the continuities of any other DC Comics project.
- This collection includes the original introduction by Alan Moore, "Behind the Painted Smile" from Warrior #17, preliminary and promotional artwork by David Lloyd and two interludes that were previously only printed in the original Warrior run, "Vertigo" and "Vincent."
Trivia
- With subsequent releases of the trade paperback, this series is now considered part of the Vertigo family of titles. The original comic book series however was not initially part of the Vertigo line.
- V's mask is an effigy of Guy Fawkes, a British soldier who attempted to blow up Parliament on November 5th, 1605.
- The line, "Remember, remember, the 5th of November, the Gunpowder Treason and plot; I know of no reason why Gunpowder Treason should ever be forgot." is taken from an old nursery rhyme commemorating Guy Fawkes Night.
- In 2006, the The Wachowski brothers (directors of the Matrix trilogy) produced the film adaptation of V for Vendetta starring Hugo Weaving as V and Natalie Portman as Evey Hammond.
- The 2006 re-release of the V for Vendetta trade paperback has the words "Now a major motion picture" written above the cover logo.
