History
Waldo was a clown part of the crew of Hill's Circus. He was friends with Dick Grayson as he met the young one during his time at Haly's Circus. Years later, they were rejoined when Dick joned Hill's Circus trapeze act.[1] Around this time, Waldo was framed for the murder of one of the circus' crew and his name was cleared by Robin. Waldo was also engaged with the lion tamer, Magnificent Melany, who helped Robin find the truth about Waldo's frameup.[2]
Waldo became the victim of a criminal called Chimera, who kidnapped him and kept him drugged in his own trailer while he impersonated the clown. Chimera was stopped by Waldo's friend, Jason and Batman, and Waldo was subsequently rescued.[3]
Notes
- Although this character was originally introduced during DC's Earth-One era of publication, their existence following the events of the 1985–86 limited series Crisis on Infinite Earths remains intact. However, some elements of the character's Pre-Crisis history may have been altered or removed for Post-Crisis New Earth continuity, and should be considered apocryphal.
