Kelly then learns that this dimension's race are highly sensitive and vulnerable to noise, meaning that they have no bullets nor explosion apart from depending on heat rays and light-based weapons, in which he devise a plan in having the race's forces in a full-scale offensive while he unleashed his "super-weapon"; a boiled can of baked beans delivered to the race's enemies causing it to burst and causing them to reel from the noise. Thus allowing a quick and easy victory. Kelly is then return to his world where he finds himself awake from his post to learn from his commanding officer that the American naval fleet at Pearl Harbor was taken by surprise by Japanese forces, in which Kelly's station had picked up the Japanese planes if he hadn't slept and could have alerted. He is arrested for his laxity despite Kelly professing that he was spirited away in another dimension at the time of the attack. However, Kelly's wild claims fell on deaf ears and has spent the rest of his days in a military insane asylum, still protesting of his innocence and wondering if his whole experience wasn't just a dream.
