Synopsis for Ibis the Invincible: "The Man Who Escaped!"
Ray Crawley is a man who grew wealthy by exploiting people his whole life, but is wracked with guilt and trying to make amends by giving away his money to humanitarian causes. The only thing left to do is give the widow of his former business partner her share, but he's hit by a car and killed before he can complete the task. Something about Crawley's cause allows him to return, stumbling out of a burning building the night of his funeral. Two minor demons try to recapture him before their boss finds out but Ibis senses evil and drives them away. Ibis promises to help Crawley carry out his plan to make amends, which turns out to be very beneficial as not long after the devil himself appears to claim Crawley's soul. He and Ibis duel but their supernatural powers are too evenly matched so Ibis proposes they settle things with fisticuffs. Satan starts to prevail but their duel has bought Crawley enough time to write out his will leaving his money to his partner's widow. He keels over dead with his task complete but this has absolved him of his sins, and the prince of darkness leaves defeated but vowing vengeance on Ibis.
