Synopsis for "Death Held the Goblet"

A magician's assistant leaves him to drown when practicing an act so that she can inherit his mantle. Things go well for her until she appears on live television and pulls an object out of a goblet, but she is shocked to see that she has acquired soaking wet goggles, then a chain, and finally a jacket similar to those the deceased wore. She thinks that she has been tricked by the objects being placed in the goblet to admit her guilt, but millions of people watching the broadcast saw her pull nothing from the goblet and bystanders realize she was tormented by illusion brought on by guilt.
