The manager plays dumb so the singer gets out of the car and tells him that he's going to hitch a ride to the cops. The manager runs the kid down thinking that he can get another singer easy. When he arrives back at the stage he hears the kid starting the concert. He's astonished to see him and can't figure how he could have beaten him back to the concert.
