Synopsis for "Demon of the Depths"
Wonder Woman goes to an Amazonian school to collect student Gerta. The teacher informs her that, because the students have been inattentive, they must stay for another hour. Upon hearing this, Gerta throws a tantrum (and a piano) but Wonder Woman catches it before it can harm the teacher. Wonder Woman uses a Magic Sphere to see Gerta's future and learns that she becomes a ruthless tyrant, enslaving other women and forcing them to do as she commands. The future Gerta kidnaps an Argentinian diplomat. When Wonder Woman arrives to save the diplomat, Gerta is slain by a slave. In the present, Hippolyta placates Wonder Woman by saying the future can be changed and Wonder Woman vows to study Gerta at the upcoming festival to find a way of changing her for the better. Gerta and another child, Aletra, become tied in various contests and Gerta decides to prove herself by diving into a pool filled with dangerous creatures. Wonder Woman tells Paula (Gerta's mother) to go to the pool's edge and call her while Wonder Woman dives in to fight off a huge octopus. Because she must obey her mother, Gerta leaves the pool and Wonder Woman tells Paula to teach Gerta love and obedience thus saving Gerta's future.
