Synopsis for "Who Killed Myndi Mayer?"
The Boston police department investigates Myndi Mayer's murder, and quickly determines the prime suspect to be Steve London, the Mayer Agency's recently-fired art director. Myndi's secretary Christine and Steve's assistant Deni both insist that Steve must be innocent, but Steve himself admits that he had drank heavily on the night of Myndi's death, and cannot accurately recall his whereabouts.
As the investigation proceeds, Wonder Woman returns to the United States, and upon learning of the case, requests to test Steve's innocence with the Lasso of Truth. However, she is denied by both the police and Steve's legal counsel,. As Wonder Woman leaves, Deni gives her an independent lead: Skeeter La Rue, Myndi's last boyfriend, had been a cocaine dealer trying to use the Mayer Agency's client list for his own business. With this lead, Wonder Woman travels to Boston's Chinatown and hunts down a few of Skeeter's business associates.
Wonder Woman eventually discovers that Skeeter is hiding in a Bedford warehouse, and confronts him there. Under the lasso's power, Skeeter confesses that he had shot Myndi, as she was starting to break her dependence on his cocaine and threatening to expose his illicit business. Steve had been an innocent caught in the plot; after Skeeter had shot Myndi, a drunken Steve had stumbled into the office, and Skeeter had overpowered him and planted his fingerprints on the murder weapon.
However, as Skeeter finishes his confession, his bodyguards begin to recover and attack Wonder Woman. Skeeter escapes in the confusion, only to accidentally kill himself on the electric fence outside. In the aftermath, the Boston police note that some of Skeeter's captured partners may in fact clear Steve London's name, but Myndi Mayer's death had not been caused by either party; forensic tests showed that when Skeeter had shot Myndi, she was already dead from one final dose of cocaine.
A heartbroken Wonder Woman leaves, wondering how a young, vital, successful woman like Myndi could have been so driven to her own destruction.
