Synopsis for Superman and Batman: "Secret of Tigerman"

When a crime spree created by the Purple Legion -- a group of criminals who operate with military procession -- prove to be difficult to catch, Batman, Robin and Superman employ a new super-hero to help them: Tigerman. When attempting to stop the group from robbing the museum, Tigerman constantly gives Batman, Robin and Superman orders that cause them to bungle the capture and allow the Purple Legion to escape. However, they do manage to capture one of the men and learn that The Legion gets radio commands from their leader General Grambly, who fashions himself as a modern day Napoleon. The captured man tells Batman, Robin, Superman and Tigerman of the General's methods before he is ordered to silence for double pay while incarcerated, and the General breaks radio transmission.

When reports get out about Tigerman ordering the Dynamic Duo and the Man of Steel around, Grambly decides to use this to his advantage and orders his men to steal a gem shipment to Nevins Rare Gems. Batman, Robin, Superman, and Tigerman arrive on the scene to stop them, and once more Tigerman bungles the capture. Realizing that Tigerman is the weakest link in their adversaries, General Grambly orders Tigerman to be captured so that they might coax the secret identities of his comrades out of him. When robbing an exhibit of historical flying machines, the Purple Legion succeeds in capturing Tigerman and making their getaway.

When brought before General Grambly, Tigerman reveals himself to be Superman in disguise. The Man of Steel explains that they orchestrated this hoax by using a Superman robot to pose as himself hoping this very turn of events would happen. However, Grambly has a trump card: a chunk of Kryptonite which he uses to weaken Superman. However, Batman and Robin -- having tracked Superman to Grambly's hideout -- arrive and capture Grambly and dispose of the Kryptonite. Searching Grambly's files they find the information on all the Purple Legion, allowing them to capture all its members.
