Synopsis for Superman and Martian Manhunter: "And So My World Begins!"
Superman locates the phasing building again and enters it, phasing back with it to its location on Vonn, which is under a red sun that strips him of his powers. There he meets J'onn J'onzz again, and learns that the Martians have been kidnapped by the warlike Thythen race and used to recharge war-robots with their own life-force. J'onzz has fallen in love with Bel Juz, a female Martian, but Superman learns that she has sold out to the Thythen.

Synopsis for Air Wave: "Underworld Jam Session!"
This story is reprinted from Detective Comics #88.
Snake Eyes Bentley is released from prison after years of working in the prison radio shop and gaining knowledge of radio to try to take down Air Wave. He goes to take revenge on the two people he blames for his imprisonment- the DA Larry Jordan and Air Wave, unaware that they are the same person. Bentley attacks Larry Jordan and ties him up next to a bomb set to explode if someone calls Larry's phone, but he manages to set fire to his ropes and free himself.
Air Wave uses his radio powers to track Bentley down, but they lay a trap for him and knock him out, leaving him to dangle below a bridge, which he also manages to free himself from. He fights Bentley again and sends him back to jail, where Larry projects his voice through the metal prison bars and taunts him.

- This story picks up directly from the conclusion of "The Kid Who Saved Superman!" in Superman #253, taking place before "The Kid Who Stole Superman's Powers!" in Superman #254.
- The Gay Ghost reprint in this issue re-lettered the original story to change "Gay" to "Grim". This was the first instance of the character being referred to as "The Grim Ghost".
