Synopsis for "The Prisoner of Rogue's Rock!"

When a swamp-monster called El Monstro distributes gold from Nazi Martin Bormann's hidden hoard in South America, Superman and Batman go to investigate. Upon arriving they separate to investigate on their own and while Superman goes looking for sunken and abandoned ships from World War II, Batman is taken to the lair of El Monstro, where he learns the tragic history of the creature. El Monstro was once a human until his father was murdered and he was framed for the crime. While in prison, he learned of the existence of the Nazi treasure and he also learned about his father's own crimes. His cellmate provided him with a strange chemical that would help him escape prison by taking the place of a corpse, but when his body was thrown to the sea, he discovered that his body had been changed into that of a monster.

After learning about El Monstro's background, Batman learned the reason why the creature was returning the gold to the victims of his father's crimes. After this, Superman locates them and he engages in a fight with the monster, before Batman could tell him the truth. Superman doesn't believe the whole story and the monster uses some weeds to transform back into the previous human form. It is then that the heroes learn that El Monstro was in fact a beautiful woman, who had to pose as a man all her life to please her father. The transformation is very brief and she soon returns to be El Monstro. As the creature leaves to get revege against those who wronged against it, Superman is still baffled as to where the Nazi treasure is located and Batman deliberately lies to him, telling him that he doesn't known the treasure's location either.
