At first, the switch seems to work, but when the heroes are unable to solve the mystery because of the youngsters' recklessness, the situation remains the same despite the change.

The heroes try once again to stop the experimental man without success. After another failure, each father and son appreciate their own family member and the therapy session proves successful. Synopsis for "Superman's Secret Master!"

This story is reprinted from World's Finest #137.

When the Daily Planet gets a report that aliens had landed in Metropolis Park and are seeking Superman's aid, Clark Kent rushes off to change into the Man of Steel to see how he may assist the aliens. They ask him to go to a distant planet where an alien creature threatens their world. Sure enough, Superman deals with the alien threat. While on Earth, Batman and Robin go to Metropolis to cover for Superman's absence and smash up an operation to steal some priceless rugs.

When Superman returns to Earth, he shocks authorities when he starts smashing buildings and tosses a bunch of cops into the ocean with a giant spoon ripped off a silverware manufacturers building. Then the Man of Steel goes on a crime spree, stealing gold and silver items from museums around Metropolis. His thefts attract the attention of Batman and Robin who fail to stop him. Shortly after the spree, Superman would return with no memory of what happened then suddenly lose control again going on another crime spree. Finding something odd, and suspecting something might have happened to him in space. Batman uses his chem-o-detector to track Superman down and he and Robin are shocked to find that he is under the control of Luthor. Luthor and the man seeming to be Superman knock the two partners out and tie them up.

The crime sprees have created an anti-Superman sentiment in Metropolis and when Superman approaches Lois Lane, with no recollection of anything after his mission in space, attempts to help stop a fire and is told to go away. Soon a large advertising campaign asking for Superman to leave Metropolis sweeps the city, and the Man of Steel, completely hurt by the accusations decides to honor the requests of the people of Metropolis and leave the city.

As it turns out, Luthor has been working with the aliens and has been using a Superman Robot to commit the crimes that the real Superman has been blamed for. When Batman and Robin break free of their bonds and attempt to escape, Luthor sicks his Superman robot on them. However, before the fake Man of Steel can harm them, the real Superman arrives on the scene and smashes his robotic doppleganger and rounds up Luthor and the aliens. After clearing his name, the people of Metropolis accept Superman back with open arms and he is invited by some firemen to help put out a fire.

Synopsis for "Fort Crime!"

This story is reprinted from World's Finest #72.

A spree of crimes are being committed by criminals that are using heavy artillery in Metropolis until they are stopped by Superman. However, despite the successful capture the crooks will not talk about their supplier, however Superman vows to the commissioner of Metropolis that he will stop this gang however possible. Gotham City has a similar problem, this one being opposed by Batman and Robin. When they capture a group of criminals, they have to rely on their keep detective skills to try and figure where these weapons are coming from. When Perry White learns that Batman had captured similar criminals, he sends Clark Kent to try and get the scoop on what's going on.

Clark arrives just as Batman and Robin are leaving the prison and learns that the crooks still aren't talking. When he arrives at the crooks' cell block he finds that Lois Lane has arrived on the scene trying to out scoop him on the story. The crooks have other ideas in mind, getting free they hold Clark, Lois and one of the guards and forces them to help escape. Using an excuse that the criminals are being brought to the governor, the guard successfully smuggles them out of the prison and onward to freedom. Stuck in the car with little options that won't expose his secret identity, Clark uses his x-ray vision to effect the moving billboard outside the Daily Planet building as they pass by. When the story about their capture gets out, complete with a description of the car they are in, Batman and Robin race after them in the Batmobile.

As Batman and Robin chase after the crooks, the goons use one of their guns to blast out the bridge. The Dynamic Duo uses the Batmobile's speed to jump the downed bridge and continue their chase. In order to keep Batman and Robin a step ahead of the crooks, Clark secretly uses his super-powers to slow them down so that Batman and Robin can track them to their secret castle hide out. When the Caped Crusaders arrive, they find that the castle is rigged with various death-traps, however Clark once more secretly uses his super-powers to trip up the crooks so that Batman and Robin can easily get past the traps. Ultimately, Clark takes a gamble and breaks through a brick wall to provide Batman and Robin with to get the drop on the crooks, who are using machine tools to construct their own heavy weapons. Witnessing Clark smash through the wall, Lois accuses him of being Superman, until Batman shows her a map of the castle that reveals a secret passage way where Clark was bound.

Later as Superman is disassembling the machine tools he explains to Batman and Robin he used his super speed to make up a false map, and later at the Daily Planet he explains to Perry that he used his x-ray vision to effect the moving billboard because he was too busy to do anything but warn Batman and Robin of the situation.
