Synopsis for Superman & Batman: "Whom Gods Would Destroy"

Superman battles an unexpectedly powerful Sinestro in Metropolis. The villain is creating chaos on the city and Superman is unable to stop him. In the meantime, Batman is on the track of Doc Willard in order to retrieve the brain of Boss Dyke. However, Batman starts having mental images of Superman's struggle in Metropolis without an apparent explanation. When Batman finally captures Willard, he takes the criminal to the Batcave II, where he learns that some kind of yellow aliens are responsible for stealing the brain and leaving Willard in a mentally deranged estate.

With the information provided by Willard, Batman deduces that the images he sees of Superman is due to his connection with Dyke's brian and that Sinestro is behind the snatching of Dyke's brain. Using their radio transmitter, Batman informs Superman that Sinestro is drawing power from the augmented brain of Boss Dyke and he gives Superman the location of the brain in space so that he can retrieve it. Superman takes down the brain, ending Sinestro's power supply and he then returns to Metropolis, where he sends Sinestro back to Qward. Meanwhile in Gotham, Doc Willard is placed in Arkham Asylum and Bruce recovers the brain of Boss Dyke and places it back on its rightful place in the Batcave.
