Synopsis for Superman & Batman: "Assault on the Fortress of Solitude!"

In Gotham City, Batman has become much more ruthless and the people started to notice the change. When the news reach Metropolis, Superman decides to help Batman lighten-up a bit and he invites his friend to the Fortress of Solitude. Batman is not convinced as he would rather keep working to make sure criminals pay for their crimes, but Superman takes him nonetheless.

While in the Fortress, Superman shows Batman some of their past adventures with Robin and at the sight of the Boy Wonder, Batman's mood improves. At this point Superman starts thinking that Batman's change of attitude happened after Robin moved away from Batman's side. Suddenly, an avalanche nearby threatens to crush some people and Superman goes to their rescue, while Batman stays in the Fortress.

Superman continues a series of great feats, but the natural disasters seem to be caused by an external force. Meanwhile, Batman is attacked by strange robots in the Fortress and all he manages to do is avoid them while they steal weapons from the place. Superman becomes aware of the situation and realizes that the robots are being commanded by a strange alien from a spaceship outside the Fortress. Although he fails to capture the alien, Superman destroys the robots and once the situation is under control, Batman and Superman start planning their next move.

Duke Denicha, leader of the vigilante Guardian Archers, insists on accompanying GA. The two manage to get their burden through to the castle, despite villagers that denounce Vertigo as a tyrant. Once there, they discover that Vertigo is very much alive, and that the crown contained no gas, but a mechanism that enables him to turn his vertigo-illusions into reality.
