Synopsis for the 1st Story
Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully are summoned to the outskirts of Wainwright, Alaska during the second week of the polar night on the site of a grisly murder scene: a mass truck wreck and the bodies of 16 beheaded truckers being ritualistically placed and frozen on a 40 foot tall pillar with their decapitated heads encircling its base.
On close inspections of the bodies via boom lift, their blood are drained and their severed necks are not seemed to be cut off by any tool. The agents are met by Mulder's rival and skeptic FBI agent Daniel Robert French, who he believes the murders fits the modus operandi of a serial killer that he and his partner Agent Orkrose has been tracking from the American west coast for six months. Although the agents argues over the matter because it couldn't be the work of a single individual. But French insists that his perpetrator killed his victims in groups.
The agents decide to work on the investigation separately in which Mulder and Scully then interviews trucker Henry-Lee "Patches" Brown, who first discovered the scene. Patches only can provide them that he had been traveling through the area for four days, having knew of one of the victims on the night before, and had never saw any kind of motor wreck like this before needing to drive back to his home with his family. A piqued Mulder believes that there is something non-human that killed the drivers.
Patches returns to his house in Wainwright. Upon entering his house, he finds his family slaughtered and decapitated around a dinner table, and greeted by vampires who have been awaiting for his arrival.
