Zauriel is a messenger of Heaven who has helped the Justice League Dark against Blight.
History
Zauriel is the Phantom Stranger's personal guardian angel.[1]
Zauriel died due to his injuries sustained during his final fight alongside Justice League Dark.[2] However, he was later resurrected by the Presence after Phantom Stranger openly decided to atone for his own sins and the eternal punishment for them. Zauriel was reborn in order to guide and protect Phantom Stranger once again.[3]

- Zauriel was created by Grant Morrison and Howard Porter, first appearing as part of JLA (Volume 1). However, in the rebooted Prime Earth continuity his first appearance as part of the DC Universe is in and J.M. DeMatteis and Fernando Blanco's New 52 The Phantom Stranger (Volume 4).
