History
Zenturion was a White Martian and a member of the alien super-team known as the Hyperclan. Zenturion and his seven colleagues came to Earth several years ago, claiming to be the last survivors of a world that had been destroyed by geological upheaval an environmental irresponsibility. Vowing to never allow such catastrophe to even occur again, the Hyperclan allegedly journeyed through space seeking out planets in need of saving. In truth though, this was just a front to turn public opinion against Earth's more prominent super-heroes, specifically, the Justice League of America.
Zenturion participated in an ambitious effort to terra-form the barren Sahara Desert, turning into a lush, fertile paradise. She also took part in the execution of a villain known as Judgment.[1]
In short order however, the JLA came to realize that the Hyperclan were not benevolent creatures, but the first wave of a full-scale alien armada intent on conquering the planet.
Zenturion and his teammates, Armek and ZüM fought against the Flash and Green Lantern in the Sahara Desert. Zenturion mistakenly believed that Green Lantern's ring was vulnerable to the color yellow like other Green Lanterns, so he began generating yellow weaponry, including a yellow electro-lash and a mecha-armor. He soon discovered to his dismay that this Green Lantern did not suffer from the same caveats as his predecessors and Kyle Rayner was able to destroy Zenturion's yellow weaponry. He then tried to take him out by hurling a metal discus, but the Flash deflected Zenturion's attack, sending the discus back to him. As the battle continued however, Zenturion and Armek were able to defeat Flash and Green Lantern. They brought them back to the Hyperclan citadel, Z'onn Z'orr, where they were placed inside a torture device known as the Flower of Wrath.
By this point, Batman had learned of the Hyperclan's Martian origins and knew that they could be defeated with fire. Batman baited them into close quarters soaked with gasoline and set it afire. The flash wave of heat quickly weakened Zenturion and he was rendered unconscious.[2]
When the rest of the Hyperclan were defeated, the Martian Manhunter used his powers to wipe their minds and memories, forcing them to assume human forms. Providing them with new identities, he then sent them out to live as productive members of the human race.[3]

Powers
- Martian Physiology: The average Martian possesses the potential for the following power set:
- Shape-Shifting: Martians have psionic control of their physical for down to the molecular level. This allows them to a form of shape-shifting that allows them to mimic other forms, elongate aspects of their body, increase or decrease their physical size, and so on.
- Size Alteration: As an extension of their shape-shifting abilities, Martians can easily alter their size, shrinking or growing to gigantic size.[4]
- Invisibility: Martians can cause the biopolymers in their bodies to lose their ability to reflect light, making the Martians invisible to normal light and human sight.[5]
- Phasing: Martians can go through solid matter.
- Superhuman Strength:[5] Martians possess vast levels of superhuman strength and are among the few races that are able to match Kryptonians in terms of raw strength. Martians can easily shatter reinforced concrete and steel, lift and carry hundreds of tons with ease and deliver incredible damage with their blows.[6]
- Superhuman Stamina
- Superhuman Durability: Martians possess high levels of durability that make them nigh-invulnerable to all forms of damage. Martians can withstand high-caliber bullets, powerful energy blasts, and kinetic impacts without suffering damage.[7]
- Superhuman Speed: Martians can process thoughts, move, and react at incredible speed, being able to cover vast distances in little or no time, catch bullets in mid-flight, run on water and create afterimages as they run.[8]
- Regeneration: Martians have powerful regenerative powers that enable them to regenerate their entire body from a severed limb, they can further enhance their regenerative powers by drawing mass from nearby sources.[9]

They can also project their mental essences into a gestalt community known as the "Great Mind". Through this, the community can enhance the telepathic strength of other Martians. This power can also enable them to reverse the effects of amnesia or psychological brainwashing. [5]

- Mind Control: As an extension of this, Martians can also use the ability to alter a psychological profile of a target, enabling them to manipulate, and in some cases, outright control that individual. This practice is greatly discouraged however, and only rarely used. [13]

Vulnerability to Fire: Martians are much more vulnerable to fire than the average Earth human. At times this has been portrayed as physical, psychological, or a combination of the two. This effect strips any Martian of their powers as they involuntarily lose control of their body.[5]

Zenturion appeared as if he carried a shield, but this was likely just an extension of his own biology.
