The Lasso of Submission is a magical lasso used by the Superwomen (Lois Lane and Donna Troy) of Earth 3.
History
In addition to its prodigious tensile strength strong enough to catch and throw a grown man,[1] it also has the ability to compel obedience and even love of the wielder in those it ensnares, including even Kryptonians or beings that came into contact with the Firestorm Matrix,[2][3] though perhaps not enough to overpower the sheer willpower of Sinestro.[4] However, it paled in comparison to the Anti-Life Equation, and so was not enough to force Mobius to submit.[5]
Superwoman tends to use the lasso to grab people around the neck, rather than around the waist, when in combat or otherwise a hurry.[1][4]
When Superwoman was killed Wonder Woman took the lasso, swearing she would give the weapon to somebody more worthy. After the defeat of Rustam in the battle between the Amazons of Bana-Mighdall and the Quraci army, Diana gifted Artemis of Bana-Mighdall with the Lasso of Submission, renaming it the Golden Promise.[6]
Later the lasso passed into the possession of Earth 3's Donna Troy, the current Superwoman.
